UNIT 1 TPT MEMBERS LAID OFF DURING HOLIDAY PERIOD: If you are eligible to receive holiday pay, you do not need to file for unemployment benefits. If you are not receiving holiday pay, you must file for benefits. Please remember, you will be either making two calls or visiting the ODJFS web site TWICE. File online at: http://unemployment.ohio.gov (accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). If you do not have internet access: Call 1-877-644-6562 (business hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, except holidays). On Sunday, December 23th, you will open your claim for benefits. On Sunday, December 30th, you will claim week ending December 29th.

UNION OFFICES CLOSED: UAW Local 2000 and all UAW International and Regional Offices will be closed from Monday, December 24th through Tuesday, January 1st and reopen on Monday, January 2nd. HUMAN RESOURCES will also be closed throughout the entire Christmas holiday period.

UAW NATIONAL FORD CONTRACT RESOLUTIONS: Members interested in submitting national contract resolutions may do so by getting a resolution form from uawlocal2000.org, your Area Rep or the union hall. Completed resolution forms can be turned into your Area Rep, to any member in the Local Structure or at the union hall. The deadline for submitting national contract resolutions is Monday, January 7th.

LOCAL CONTRACT RESOLUTIONS: Members interested in submitting local contract resolutions may do so by getting a resolution form from uawlocal2000.org, your Area Rep or the union hall. Completed resolution forms can be turned into your Area Rep, to any member in the Local Structure. The deadline for submitting local contract resolutions is Monday, February 25th.

NEXT PAID HOLIDAYS

OHAP uNIT 1 Christmas / New Year paid holidays: Ohio Assembly Plant will shut down for the Christmas holiday period on Friday, December 21st (at the completion of the 3rd shift) and will not resume normal production until Wednesday, January 2nd. It is important that you understand the general eligibility rules on Christmas holiday pay: A seniority employee absent without excuse on either the last scheduled working day prior to or the next scheduled working day after the Christmas holiday period shall be ineligible for one of the holidays for which he/she would otherwise be eligible in the holiday period. If an eligible employee misses both the scheduled day before and the scheduled day after, he/she will not be eligible for any Christmas holiday pay. Seniority employees who have gone on sick leave during the workweek prior to or during the workweek in which the holiday(s) falls shall receive pay for such holiday period. A seniority employee who is on sick leave when the holiday(s) occurs, who would return to work following the holiday(s), but during the week in which the holiday(s) falls, shall receive pay for such holiday(s).

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY – Monday, January 21st: Unit 1 OHAP – You must work the day after the holiday or have an excused absence for that day to receive holiday pay. Unit 3 Leadec – You must work your regularly scheduled shift immediately prior to and their regularly scheduled shift following the holiday. Unit 4 Source Providers – You must work your nearest scheduled work day both preceding and following the holiday. Unit 5 Detroit Chassis - You must work on the nearest scheduled workday, both preceding and following the holiday.
