DETROIT – On Monday, July 12, at 2:30 p.m., UAW President Bob King and the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., the founder and president of the Rainbow Push Coalition, and other community, religious and labor allies will announce a new campaign to refocus our national priorities on jobs, justice and peace.
DETROIT – Bob King, elected UAW president by delegates today at the UAW’s 35th Constitutional Convention, will lead members and other UAW officers along with community and labor supporters in a downtown Detroit march Thursday, June 17, at 2:30 p.m.
In a display of union democracy in action, delegates to the 35th UAW Constitutional Convention Wednesday overwhelmingly elected Bob King to succeed Ron Gettelfinger as president of the UAW.
King prevailed by 2,115.095 to 74.549 in a roll call vote against challenger Gary Walkowicz, 61, a Local 600 bargaining committee member at Ford Motor Co.'s Dearborn Truck Plant.

The UAW Indiana Community Action Program has unanimously endorsed U.S. Rep. Brad Ellsworth to succeed Evan Bayh in the U.S. Senate.
Indiana CAP, which is funded through voluntary contributions from UAW active and retired members, selected Ellsworth because he will bring more jobs to the Hoosier state, said UAW Region 3 Director Maurice “Mo” Davison.
