INFORMATION BULLETIN - September 21, 2004

VOTER REGISTRATION & CORRECTIONS: In a joint effort between the UAW and the AFL-CIO, the voter registry was checked for members who will be ineligible to vote for various reasons, such as, name change, wrong addresses (moved), removed from the registry or not registered. In Lorain County over 400 Local 2000 members were reported to be ineligible to vote. On Wednesday, September 22nd, Thursday, September 23rd, and Friday, September 24th, members of Local 2000, Wendy Cummings - CAP Council, Pete Filiaggi, 2nd V.P. Local 2000, Ida Hess, Trustee Local 2000 and Garry Martin, Trustee, will be in the plant to assist members with the corrections and to do voter registration. Please take a moment to insure that you are registered to vote in the upcoming election. Members living outside of Lorain County should contact their Board of Elections before Friday, October 1, 2004.

PERFORMANCE BONUS: The performance bonus will be paid to all shifts on Wednesday, October 13, 2004, and is based on 3% of the qualified earnings during the 52 consecutive pay periods immediately preceding the pay period in which the designated eligibility date falls. The following are qualified earnings for Performance Bonus:

Bereavement Pay

Back Pay Awards Related To The Designated Eligibility Year

*Includes overtime, Saturday, Sunday and Holiday premium payments.

ALSO, any member who retired during this period is eligible. The family or estate of any member who died during this period is entitled to the bonus on the eligible hours......

Union dues will be deducted from the Performance Bonus payment.

DAY OF CARING: A total of $1,747.60 was collected along with various baby products for the Lorain County Labor Agency Diaper Drive. A special thank you to the retirees who participated in the gate collection: Don Linder, Vel Jankulovich, Glenn Chew Eubank, Joe McFarland, Bev Smith and John Hunter, and many thanks to all who contributed.

FORD'S PREMIERE NIGHT: Nick Abraham Elyria Ford is extending an invitation to Local 2000 membership to attend their exclusive Ford Premier Night. They will have the new Ford Five Hundred, F-250, Freestyle and the new Mustang on display. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.

FLU SHOTS: Flu shots will be available at the union hall on Saturday, November 6, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Cost is $6.00 per shot. Public is welcome. For further information, please call Gen Gray, extension 21 or Joe Hribar, extension 31, at the union hall, 934-3151.

PRESIDENT AT MEETING: 1st Vice-President, Jerome Williams will replace President Tim Donovan next week, Monday, September 27th through Friday, October 1st, while he is attending a Financial Conference in Detroit, Michigan.
