INFORMATION BULLETIN - November 19, 2007

NATIONAL CONTRACT RATIFICATION VOTE: 80.3% of those voting approved the UAW-Ford National Contract. 100% of those voting approved the UAW-Ford Nurses’ National Contract. Thanks to all who took time out of their busy day to vote.

SHIFT START TIME CHANGE: Chairman Nick Gallogly has been advised by the company that on Wednesday, November 21st, the 3rd shift will start at 3:30 PM. The 3rd shift will resume the 4:30 PM shift start on Monday November 26th.

UPCOMING HOLIDAYS:

November 22nd — Thanksgiving
November 23rd — Day after Thanksgiving
You must work Wednesday, November 21st or have an approved absence to be paid for the holiday.
December 24th through January 1st – Christmas Holiday Period

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY CONVERSION: Eligible hourly employees who work and wish to convert the Thanksgiving holidays for November 22nd and November 23rd must do so from Wednesday November 21st through midnight Friday November 23rd.

CHRISTMAS BONUS: The Christmas bonus will be available on Friday December 7th, to eligible workers. Bonuses are based on the following schedule: Pay periods worked: 26 weeks or more - $600 bonus; 20 through 25 weeks worked - $450 bonus; 13 through 19 weeks worked - $300 bonus. The eligibility year is November 13th, 2006 through November 11th, 2007. Union dues will be deducted. Members who are working will receive their bonus check through the normal distribution.

DECEMBER ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES: Employees with unused vacation or personal time hours, pay-ending November 25th will be paid on Friday December 7th.

SUPPLEMENTAL OPT OFF POOL FOR NON-APPENDIX F SKILLED TRADES: Sign up is December 1st through December 31st (effective January 2nd, 2008).

LOCAL NEGOTIATIONS: Local negotiations are still ongoing. Copies of the local contract highlights will be in the plant as soon as possible after a tentative agreement is reached. Once a tentative agreement has been reached, you will be notified of a meeting time and place for voting on the local agreement.

LUNCH WITH SANTA: The Women’s Committee is sponsoring a “Lunch with Santa” at the Sheffield Lake Community Center on Saturday December 8th from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Lunch will include a hot dog, chips and beverage, and kids can get their picture with Santa. Tickets must be purchased in advance from committee members or from the local union hall. The donation is $5.00 per child and free for parents. Committee members are: Angela Amstutz, Elba Cordova, Ida Hess, Melissa Qualls, Arlene Spurlock, Paula Weaver, Christine Wengerd, Yvvette English, Landy Kyzer, Brenda Davis, Christine Yarber and Roy Escandon.

CLOTHE-A-CHILD: Our annual collection will be held Friday December 7th in the plant. Local 2000 and Ohio Assembly have historically been the largest contributors to the Clothe-A-Child. Please remember to bring a cash donation.

CASINO BUS TRIP: The Recreation Committee is sponsoring a casino bus trip to Seneca Allegany on January 20th. Those taking the trip are meeting at 7:30 AM at Super K-Mart at Leavitt Road and Route 58 in Amherst. The cost is $35 per person. Beverages and snacks will be provided on the bus and $25 in coins will be given at the casino. Limited seating is available. Please pay your deposit at the union hall by January 11th. GATE COLLECTION FOR THE NEEDY: $2,614.79 was collected at the plant Friday November 9th. This money, along with donations from Local 2000, Local 2000 & 425 Retirees’ Chapters, Local 2000 Women’s and Veteran’s Committees, Lorain County UAW-CAP Council, Lorain County Labor Agency, LEAP CIL and the Labor Day Celebration Committee, will help feed the needy families in our area during the holiday. Thanks to those who contributed and special thanks to those who volunteered for the gate collection and for distribution of the food.

NEXT UNION MEETING: Due to the membership’s action at the October union meeting, the December membership meeting will be December 2nd at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall at 2:30 PM.
