INFORMATION BULLETIN - November 7, 2007

NATIONAL CONTRACT INFORMATION AND Q & A MEETINGS: Meetings will be held at Lorain County Community College Spitzer Conference Center, 1005 Abbe Road in Elyria, Ohio, 44035, beginning at 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, November 12th.

RATIFICATION VOTE: Voting will also take place Monday, November 12th at the Spitzer Conference Center from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM for 3rd shift and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM for the 2nd shift. Those on 1st shift may attend either of the meetings. Please attend the meeting designated for your shift (above) so the conference center is not overcrowded. All active members are eligible to vote.

NO ABSENTEE VOTING: Per the UAW Constitution, Article 38 Section 10(B), there will be no absentee voting. The only elections you may apply for absentee voting in are Executive Officers and the Constitutional Convention.

LOCAL NEGOTIATIONS: Local negotiations are ongoing. Copies of the local contract highlights will be in the plant as soon as possible after a tentative agreement is reached.

TENTATIVE CONTRACT HIGHLIGHTS:

1. PLEASE bring your highlights with you if you are attending the informational meetings.
       

2. Copies of the unpublished letters are available at the union hall upon request. The hall’s regular business hours are 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

THE NEXT PAID HOLIDAY IS Friday, November 16th, in observance of Veterans’ Day. You must work Thursday November 15th or you must have an approved day off to be paid for the holiday.

HOLIDAY CONVERSION: Eligible hourly employees who work the day Veteran’s Day is observed (November 16th) and wish to convert it must do so before midnight on Friday November 16th.

GATE COLLECTION: A gate collection will be held this Friday November 9th to collect money to purchase food for the needy within Lorain County. We encourage everyone to participate in helping to feed those who are less fortunate than we are during this holiday season.

THE 49TH ANNUAL REGION 2-B, UAW BOWLING TOURNAMENT will be held at Beaver-Vu Lanes located at 1238 North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek, OH. The selected weekends are January 26-27, 2008 and February 2-3, 2008. The tournament is open to all Region 2-B UAW members (active and retired) and spouses ONLY. Entry forms may be obtained at Local 2000. Your fee must be paid by check or money order only (no cash will be accepted) and made payable to Region 2-B, UAW. Deadline for entries is November 16th, 2007, no exceptions.

NEXT UNION MEETING: Due to the membership’s action at the October union meeting, the December membership meeting will be December 2nd at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall at 2:30 PM.
