INFORMATION BULLETIN - October 4, 2006

SPECIAL INCENTIVE PACKAGES: Representatives from the UAW National Ford Department and Ford Motor Company are scheduled to be here on Tuesday October 31st 2007 and Wednesday November 1st to present further information regarding the Special Incentive Packages. When the meeting times and locations are confirmed, the membership will be notified.

UNEMPLOYMENT DENIAL APPEALS: If there are any members who are in the appeal process with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS) that have not contacted me (Tim Donovan), please do so as soon as possible. I can be reached at the union hall at 934.3151 Extension 22 or through the plant paging system at 933.1483, pager #0177. While in the appeal process, if your appeal is denied, please continue to appeal any re-determination as directed by the ODJFS.

UAW REGION 2-B SCHOLARSHIP: Applications for the Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Program are available at the union hall or from ETC Ray Berisko (933.1399). Applicants must be high school seniors graduating between January 2007 and July 2007. If the application is mailed, it will not be accepted if the U.S. Mail postmark is later than October 15th, 2006.

POKER RUN: More than $6,500 was raised for the residents of the Avon Oaks Nursing Home at the Local 2000 Annual Poker Run and Classic Car Show. Thanks to all who participated, volunteered their time and donated items for the silent auction. Also, special thanks to Randy and Ivy Cooper, who came and drew caricatures for the nursing home residents.

LUCY IDOL COLLECTION: Thank you to all who contributed cash donations and volunteered to man the gates for the annual Lucy Idol collection. The total amount collected was $3,302.00.

48th ANNUAL REGION 2-B, UAW BOWLING TOURNAMENT: To be held at Park Lanes located at 1410 Park Avenue West in Mansfield, Ohio. The tournament is open to all Region 2-B UAW members (active and retired) and spouses ONLY. The selected weekends for the tournament are as follows: January 27th and 28th, February 3rd and 4th, and February 10th and 11th, 2006. Only official entry forms will be accepted (no copies). Entry forms are available at the local union hall. Your entry fee must be paid by CHECK or MONEY ORDER ONLY, made payable to Region 2-B, UAW. Because of new regulations, absolutely no cash will be accepted. The deadline for entries is November 17th, 2006, no exceptions.

GATE COLLECTION: A gate collection will be held on Friday November 17th to collect money to purchase food for the needy within Lorain County. We are hoping that they, too, will have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
