INFORMATION BULLETIN -
August 24, 2007
STRIKE
AUTHORIZATON: Unit 1 Econoline, Unit 3 Nurses and the National
Contracts all expire on September 14th,
2007 at midnight. We are required by our International Union to take
a strike vote to authorize both the International and Local Union to
STRIKE IF NECESSARY.
THE STRIKE VOTE FOR LOCAL AND
NATIONAL CONTRACTS WILL BE HELD Monday August 27th,
2007 from 12:00 PM (noon) until 12:00 PM (NOON) on Tuesday August 28th,
2007. Voting will take place
at the local union hall for strike authorization for the local and
national economic and contractual demands. UAW Local 2000 Union Hall
is located at 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio 44054.
Please remember to vote!!!
We, the Bargaining Committee, will be
negotiating some very important issues at the local level. Some
important issues we will be negotiating will be outsourcing, outside
contractors, standards, added manpower and better facilities.
The strongest bargaining tool we have
against Ford Motor Company is to send them a loud and clear message
that we have the support of the Membership. We need to let the
Company and the International Union know that our members are united
and will fight to protect our jobs and our future by voting 100% to
STRIKE, IF NECESSARY.
The Chairpersons, Bargaining
Committeepersons and I pledge to you that we will meet with
management as often and as long as necessary to reach an agreement
WITHOUT taking this Membership out on strike. However, we
will not bring you Local Contracts that do not protect your job,
your rights, and your future.
The Chairman has had the Bargaining
Structure off the floor in negotiations, preparing our proposals and
demands and going through the resolutions we received from the
membership. We are asking for your support and understanding during
this period. We ask that you please call your District
Committeeperson to assist you with any problems you may have.
PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER TO RECEIVE
STRIKE ASSISTANCE INFORMATION IN THE EVENT OF A STRIKE, WE MUST HAVE
YOUR CORRECT ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. It is very important that
you keep your records up to date. Please go to Human
Resources and give them your correct address and phone number. You
can either call or stop in at the union hall to be sure your records
are correct there (440-934-3151 Ext. 21).
