LOCAL 2000 ANNUAL PICNIC UPDATE: Due to the large turnout for our annual picnic, we will have our own tent for the event. Please enter the Carnegie Picnic Plaza from Carnegie Avenue outside of Jacob’s Field.

The Carnegie Picnic Plaza opens at 11:30 AM for lunch and the children’s inflatables.

Our lunch for the picnic will be served 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM.

The children’s inflatables will close at game time.

Children 14 and under will receive a Slider potato head at the picnic plaza.

THE 5th ANNUAL REGION 2-B, UAW WALLEYE FISHING TOURNAMENT will be held at the Catawba Island Township Launch Ramp, (State Route 53), 1955 N.E. Catawba Road, Port Clinton, Ohio on Saturday, August 18th. It is open to all Region 2-B UAW members (active and retired) and their spouses. The entry fee ($100.00 per boat*) must be paid by CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ONLY and made payable to UAW Region 2-B Walleye Tournament. The deadline for entries is Monday July 30th. You may fish up to four (4) people per boat but not less than two (2). If interested, stop by the union hall for entry form and rules.

CONGRATULATIONS: Two foursomes were randomly drawn on Friday June 15th to represent Local 2000 at this year’s UAW Region 2-B Richard T. Gosser Golf Classic: The first foursome drawn was Ron Zimmerman, Scott Zimmerman, Doug Dunn and Dwayne Brown, and the second foursome drawn was Steven Clause, Jeff Jarrett, Tim Dillon and Thor Baker. We would like to wish both teams the best of luck.

LOCAL 2000 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE LABOR DAY CELEBRATION: This year’s event is already being planned. Volunteers are needed for setting up the day before the event, for working the food line the day of the event (2:30 – 7:00 PM) and for cleaning up the day after the event. If you are interested in volunteering for this year’s event, please contact Amy Jaynes-Brown, E.R.C., at 440.933.1244 or Linda Lynch, our secretary at the union hall, at 440.934.3151, extension 21 to sign up to be a volunteer. The first 100 volunteers will receive a commemorative Labor Day Celebration t-shirt. We ask that members working the day of the event (Sunday September 2nd) please report to the food line promptly at 2:30 PM.

BENEFITS -- DEPENDENTS’ AUDITS: Ford Motor Company is continually running audits on eligible dependents on your health care coverage. If you have a son or daughter or ex-spouse who is no longer eligible to be covered, it is YOUR responsibility to call the N.E.S.C. to remove that person or persons. Their phone number is 1-800-248-4444. We have many members who are repaying the premiums paid by the company for dependents not removed in a timely manner. In order to be an eligible dependent, you must be able to claim them on your 1040 Tax Return. If you have any questions call Ron Bills, Benefits Representative, at 440-934-3151.

CORRECT ADDRESS & PHONE NUMBER NEEDED: To protect your job, it is very important that you keep your records up to date. Please go to Human Resources and give them your correct address and phone number. You can either call or stop in at the union hall to be sure your records are correct there (440-934-3151 Ext. 21).

UAW LEGAL SERVICES HAS MOVED. PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THEIR NEW CONTACT INFORMATION. Their new phone number is 440-282-1392 and their new address is 5300 Baumhart Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.

NEXT UNION MEETING: Due to the membership’s action at the May union meeting, the summer membership meetings have been cancelled. Our next membership meeting will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday September 9th at U.A.W. Local 2000 Union Hall.
