PAYCHECK INFORMATION: Anytime you are picking up a paycheck, please be prepared to provide a form of identification. The company/security is strictly enforcing this rule. Anyone picking up a check for you must have a signed note identifying the person picking up your check and YOUR identification card.

EDUCATION FAIR: The Education/Health Fair is on August 9th at the plant from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM in the main lobby and the cafeteria.

REMINDER: The 4th Annual UAW Region 2-B Walleye Fishing Tournament will be held at the Catawba Island Township Launch Ramp, (State Route 53), 1955 N.E. Catawba Road, Port Clinton, Ohio on Saturday, August 19th, 2006. It is open to all Region 2-B UAW members (active and retired) and their spouses. The entry fee ($100.00 per boat*) must be paid by CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ONLY and made payable to UAW Region 2-B Walleye Tournament. The deadline for entries is Friday, July 31st.
*You may fish up to four (4) people per boat but not less than two (2). If interested, stop by the union hall for entry form and rules.

PARKING LOT: There were discussions with the company concerning improving the accessibility and exiting of the old parking lot on Miller Road. The outcome of the discussions was extending the parking lot (to include additional spaces), additional entrances and exits and more entrances into the plant. We hope these improvements have helped. Thank you for your patience. The Chairman will continue discussions with the company to improve our plant for all of us.

THE U.A.W. LOCAL 2000 ANNUAL PICNIC WILL BE HELD AT GEAUGA LAKE THIS YEAR ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 13, 2006. Discounted ticket prices will be $24.00 for adults, $12.00 for seniors (62 and older), $12.00 for juniors (3 years or older and under 48” tall) and free admission for children 2 and under. There is a six (6) ticket limit per member at the above discounted prices.

TICKETS FOR THE PICNIC WILL BE ON SALE ON FRIDAY, JULY 28, 2006 AND MONDAY, JULY 31, 2006 FROM 6:00 AM TO 11:30 PM IN THE HALLWAY BY THE MAIN CAFETERIA. Parking passes will be available at a cost of $8.00 per car when purchasing tickets to the park; otherwise you will be charged $9.00 at the gate. All Local 2000 activities will be held in the Coyote Creek Pavilions 9, 10 & 11 behind the Texas Twister. Members with season passes can purchase a meal ticket for the price of $10.00 per ticket for adults and $7.00 a ticket for seniors and juniors. No tickets will be sold at the park. Advance sales only. No ticket refunds will be given after purchase.

NEXT UNION MEETING: Due to the membership’s action at the May union meeting, the summer membership meetings have been cancelled. Our next membership meeting will be held on Sunday, September 10th, 2006 at U.A.W. Local 2000 Union Hall.
