INFORMATION BULLETIN - June 19, 2008

C.O.L.A. INFORMATION: The three-month average for February, March and April, 2008 is 202.60, yielding thirty-four cents (34˘) per hour, following a twelve cents (12˘) diversion from our Collective Bargaining Agreement. Therefore, the total cost of living received in your paycheck will be forty-six cents (46˘) per hour.

ADDITIONAL DOWN WEEK: The week of July 28th has been added as a down week. Therefore we will be down the weeks of July 7th and July 14th for summer shutdown and the weeks of July 21st and July 28th for volume related layoff.

FUTURE SCHEDULED DOWN WEEKS are September 8, 2008 and October 6, 2008. As always, any down weeks are subject to change.

FAMILY DAYS / RETIRING OR TAKING A PACKAGE: Those retiring or taking a package that have not used their Family Days must do so before their last day of work or those days will be lost.

NEXT PAID HOLIDAY – FRIDAY, JULY 4TH is our next paid holiday. You must work Thursday, July 3rd, the day prior to the holiday, to receive holiday pay or have an excused absence for that day but you MUST work your previous scheduled day. Example: If you have July 2nd and 3rd off with an excused absence, you STILL MUST WORK July 1st to get paid for the holiday.

WORKING THE 4th OF JULY? – IMPORTANT NOTICE: Anyone scheduled to work July 4th still needs to sign up for the conversion in Human Resources, otherwise you will be paid holiday pay in your paycheck along with your weekly wage.

SUPPLEMENTAL OPT OFF POOL: Sign up in Human Resources now through June 30th if you have the qualifications.

CONGRATULATIONS: One foursome was randomly drawn on Monday, June 9th to represent Local 2000 at this year’s UAW Region 2-B Richard T. Gosser Golf Classic: The foursome drawn was Donna Byron, Harry Byron, Tom Murch and Ruben Garcia. We would like to wish their team the best of luck.

LOCAL 2000 ANNUAL PICNIC: This year, Local 2000’s annual picnic will be held at Swings and Things on Sunday, August 17th. Further details will be given in the next bulletin, which will come out prior to shutdown.

THE NEXT RETIREES’ MEMBERSHIP MEETING will be on Thursday, July 3rd at 10:00 AM at the union hall.

NEXT UNION MEETING: Due to the membership’s action at the May union meeting, the summer membership meetings have been cancelled. Our next membership meeting will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday September 14th at U.A.W. Local 2000 Union Hall.
