CONSOLIDATION: A discussion was held with
Gerald Bantom concerning the needs of Local 2000 regarding the
consolidation. A reasonable request for retirement packages was
discussed and the National Department agreed to come to the plant
for further discussion with Local 2000 Leadership. As we receive
additional information we will pass it along to the membership.
C.O.L.A. RAISE: You will be receiving a
cost of living raise of twenty-six six cents (26˘) effective Monday,
June 6, 2005. Therefore, the total cost-of-living received in your
paycheck will be ninety-nine cents (99˘) per hour.
SHIFT PREFERENCE: Sign up in the Human
Resources Department June 6 through June 10, 2005.
SUPPLEMENTAL OPT OFF POOL: Sign up in Human
Resources the month of June (June 1 through June 30, 2005) if you
have the qualifications.
JULY 4th CONVERSION: Sign up in Human
Resources the week of June 6 through June 10 (midnight).
BLOOD DRIVE: LifeShare Community Blood
Services will be conducting a blood drive at the Ohio Assembly Plant
in the Thunderbird Conference Room on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 from
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please bring your donor card or photo id and
a list of any medications you are taking.
STANDING COMMITTEES: Anyone interested in
being on a Standing Committee for the next term should contact
President Tim Donovan at the local union hall.
THE 5TH REGION 2-B TRADE SHOW AND FAMILY DAY
will be held on Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the
Richland County Fairgrounds in Mansfield, Ohio.
Activities on Friday, June 10, 2005 will begin at
1:00 p.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Saturday’s activities will
begin at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Voluntary local
entertainment will be provided during the day with professional
entertainment periodically throughout the day.
For the Special Interest, Antique, Custom, Hot
Rod, Muscle Car, Motorcycle and Tractor Show: Registration forms
are available at the union hall or you may register at the event.
Prizes: Prize drawings will be held after
the close of the exhibits on Friday afternoon and Saturday
afternoon. Winners need not be present to win. There will be no
charge to enter the drawing for prizes (except CAP drawings).
Children’s Entertainment: We are currently
in the process of securing entertainment for children, which will be
provided on both days.
Camping: Approximately 200 campsites will
be available on the Fairgrounds property, on a first come – first
serve basis, at a cost of $15.00 per night, including electricity
and water hookups. Pre-registration is not required.
NEXT UNION MEETING: Our next membership
meeting is on Sunday June 12, 2005 at Southview High School, 2270
East 42nd Street, Lorain. AGENDA: Swearing in of Officers.
