INFORMATION BULLETIN - May 3, 2004

UNIT 1 - ELECTION REMINDER: The election for Bargaining Committeeperson is Thursday, May 13th, polls open at 5:00 A.M. and will close at 11:00 P.M. The voting will take place in the Thunderbird Room in the main lobby next to Human Resources.

ABSENTEE VOTING: Per membership action, at the May 2nd membership meeting, absentee voting will be permitted per the UAW International Constitution. ONLY those on official union or company business are eligible to vote. Absentee ballots will be available at the union hall.

AVON LAKE SPORTS COMPLEX: The Mayor has scheduled a public meeting to discuss the proposed complex. The meeting will be held at Learwood Middle School, 340 Lear Road, Avon Lake on Wednesday, May 5th at 7:30 P.M.

UAW MURRAY RETURNS: Lawn products built in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee by members of Local 1621, will be available at the Local Hall on Saturday, May 8th from 9:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. (or earlier, depending on sales), first come, first serve basis. Money orders only. Products available include: Push Mowers, 3.5, 4.5 and 6.0 HP, $108.50 - $200.73; Self Propelled Mowers, 6.0 HP and 6.75 HP, $233.28 - $272,19, Cultivators, 2 HP - $189.88 and Edgers 3.5 HP - $211.58; prices include tax. Money orders can be obtained down the road from the union hall.

VOTER REGISTRATION: Local 2000 retirees will be in the lobby, by the main cafeteria, on Wednesday, May 12th from 10:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., to register voters and also make address and/or party changes, if necessary.

LOCAL 2000 GOLF LEAGUE: Sign-up at the local union hall now through May 17th. Tee off times from 4:30 P.M. to 5:15 P.M. Any questions call John Hunter at 934-5883.

PLANT SAFETY AWARD: Our plant received a Continuous Improvement Award for three (3) years of continuous improvement in lost time case rate due to injuries. Our plant's rating of 1.8 is the third lowest in the assembly division. Congratulations to all of you and our Safety Representatives for making Ohio Assembly a safer workplace.

CALL FOR HELP: The Women's Committee is collecting old cell phones and accessories, if available, for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Phones will be activated and distributed to families at risk. Please drop your unused phones off at the union hall.
