INFORMATION BULLETIN - March 28, 2007

TENTATIVE AGREEMENT ON COMPETITIVE OPERATING AGREEMENT (COA): Our Chairman and Bargaining Structure have reached a tentative agreement with Ford Motor Company for our plant COA.

SPECIAL MEETING AND RATIFICATION VOTE: On Sunday April 1st there will be a special meeting from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at Southview High School, 2270 East 42nd Street, Lorain. Voting will be held between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If you need directions to Southview High School, please contact our office secretary, Linda Lynch, at 440.934.3151 extension 21.

MARCH OF DIMES GATE COLLECTION and MARCH OF DIMES WALK AMERICA: There will be a plant gate collection this Friday March 30th to benefit the March of Dimes. The walk will be April 29th, 2007. If you would like any further information, please contact your ERC’s: Tom May at extension 1431, Gerald Pippens at extension 1095, Amy Jaynes-Brown at extension 1244 or Annette Fuller at extension 1982.

NATIONAL PROGRAM CENTER (NPC) INFORMATION: We have been officially notified by the Directors of the UAW-Ford National Programs Centers that the following changes will be implemented in order to meet the NPC budget requirements:

Fitness Center – Our fitness center will remain open after the full time staff’s contract expires on March 31, 2007. Chairman Nick Gallogly is committed to keeping the center open. Staffing details will be released at a later date.

EMPLOYEE TUITION PLANS (ETP):

Education and Training Assistance (ETAP) – The NPC will continue to staff the Employee Tuition Plans Department to support and process college credit tuition plan applications for those UAW – Ford employees continuing their education.

Personal Development Assistance (PDA) – Effective immediately the NPC will no longer process tuition assistance applications for PDA courses.

Job Related Certifications – Exception – Job related certification requirements will be an exception to the moratorium on PDA courses. If certification is required for a current job related skill the course will be authorized. All applications for certification courses will be verified on an individual basis before approval is provided. All exceptions will be reviewed and approved by the Joint Governing Body.

Retiree Education and Training Assistance Plan (RETAP) – Included in the moratorium on all PDA courses are all RETAP PDA tuition assistance requests with a term beginning date on or after May 1, 2007.

Family Service and Learning Centers – As previously announced, Child Care Services through FSLC will cease effective June 30, 2007. All programs funding provided for the FSLC Family Center involving family and volunteer programs will cease effective March 31, 2007.

Education Training Coordinators – Positions to be eliminated effective March 26, 2007.

Skills Enhancement Programs (SEP) will be closed as soon as we are able to terminate our association with the various SEP providers.

Education Development and Training Program – General Fund is frozen (funding used to purchase supplies for the local EDTP activities and Education Fairs).

Grants for Plants is frozen (funding used to purchase furniture and equipment for local Learning Centers and Technical Labs).

Personal Development Assistance (PDA) – A moratorium will be placed on all PDA applications including the Financial Education and Investments Program (FEIP).

Retiree Education and Training Assistance Plan (RETAP) – A moratorium will be placed on RETAP Personal Development Assistance (PDA).

Lifestyle Management – Planning Your Future (LMPYF) – Effective immediately no further LMPYF programs will be authorized.

The following programs have been discontinued: Automotive Industries Studies (AIS), Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), and UAW-Ford University (UFU).

MEMBERSHIP MEETING DATES CHANGED: Due to our regularly scheduled April and May membership meetings falling on Easter and Mother’s Day, the membership at the February meeting took action to reschedule them. Our April membership meeting will be held on Sunday April 15th and our May membership meeting will be held on Sunday May 6th at U.A.W. Local 2000, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, OH.
