INFORMATION BULLETIN - March 20,
20032002 ELECTION PROTESTS/APPEALS: The
Local Union has been notified by UAW President Ron Gettelfinger that
the International Executive Board has affirmed the decision of the
Local 2000 membership at the May 19, 2002 monthly meeting. All three
(3) appeals have been denied. We still have not received any
notification from the U.S. Department of Labors investigation. The
members who protested can still appeal to the Public Review Board.
LOCAL 2000 welcomes back the sixty-seven
(67) members who had transferred to Sandusky, Lorain and Brookpark and
chose to return back home to Ohio Assembly.
NEXT PAID HOLIDAYS: April 18, 2003, Good
Friday and April 21, 2003 the day after Easter. You must work your
next scheduled day or be properly excused to be paid for Monday.
VACATION SHUTDOWN: The Local Union has
been advised vacation shutdown will be the weeks of June 30th and July
7th, 2003.
UNIT 1: Tentative Saturdays scheduled for
Unit 1, Econoline, (both shifts); April 5th; 12th & 26th and June 7th,
2003.
UNIT 2: Escape team-leaders are temporary
and will be utilized until December 1, 2003. Each team will then elect
their team leader of choice. Solicitation for departments has been
completed by seniority. Postings will be in the East Cafeteria and in
the hallways by the committee offices.
BLOOD DRIVE: American Red Cross Blood
Drive to be held at the plant, Tuesday, April 1st, from 12:00 PM to
5:00 PM. Please donate!!!
WOMEN'S COMMITTEE: Dance Thru the Years
to benefit the American Cancer Society. May 3rd at UAW Hall on Lowell
St., Elyria. Tickets $10.00 Available at Local or from Women's
Committee member.
JOINT CONFERENCE: The Unit Chairperson,
Bargaining Committeemen, Appointees and myself will be attending the
Annual Joint Conference next week, March 24th thru 28th. The following
