INFORMATION BULLETIN - February 27, 2008

NATIONAL ATTENDANCE PROGRAM: We have been informed by the UAW National Ford Department that the effective date of the National Attendance Program is March 3rd, 2008 (as negotiated in the 2007 UAW-Ford Contract).

SHIFT PREFERENCE: Sign up in the Human Resources Department March 3rd through midnight on Friday, March 7th.

NEXT PAID HOLIDAYS: Good Friday, March 21st and the day after Easter, March 24th are our next paid holidays. You must work Thursday March 20th, the day prior to the holiday, and Tuesday March 25th, the day after the holiday, to receive holiday pay, or have an excused absence for that day but you MUST work your next scheduled day. Example: If you have March 25th and 26th off with an excused absence, you STILL MUST WORK March 27th to get paid for the holiday.

ROAD CLOSING REMINDER: Abbe Road (State Route 301) 300 yards south of Colorado Avenue (State Route 611) will be closed to traffic beginning on Monday, March 3rd for 75 days.

ALL EMPLOYEES: Employees who have not yet been sized for a jacket should contact any of the following appointed reps before 10:00 AM on Friday, February 29th: Amy Jaynes Brown, Annette Fuller, Ruth Smith, Gerald Pippens or Tom May.

ELECTION COMMITTEE ELECTION: The Election Committee Election will be held at Southview High School on Sunday, March 9th from 12:00 PM (noon) to 5:00 PM. The candidates and their ballot numbers are as follows:

ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, March 4th is Election Day. PLEASE exercise your right to vote. Although this is the primary election, it is a very important election. You not only have the presidential primary, there are many important state, county and local offices and issues on the ballot. These offices and issues will affect you, your loved ones and all of us. Please take a few moments out of your busy day to vote. Your votes do count.

UAW V-CAP DRAWING: The V-CAP drawing that was to be held in late fall is going to be held on March 18th at the UAW-CAP General Board Meeting. Members who still have tickets should continue to sell them, but please be sure to turn in all your sold and unsold tickets and money at the union hall by Tuesday, March 11th.

THE NEXT MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING will be on March 9th at 2:30 PM at Southview High School, 2270 East 42nd Street in Lorain.
