INFORMATION BULLETIN - January 22, 2008

THE RATIFICATION MEETING ON THE TENTATIVE LOCAL CONTRACT will be held on Sunday, January 27th at Southview High School, 2270 East 42nd Street in Lorain. The meeting and question and answer period will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM (noon).

VOTING ON THE TENTATIVE LOCAL CONTRACT will also be held on Sunday, January 27th at Southview High School. The ratification vote will begin at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM.

SPECIAL ELECTION: Nominations are open for the vacated positions of Unit 1 Bargaining Committeeperson and *Skilled Trades Chairperson/Committeeperson per Article 10, Sections 2 and 3 and Article 19, Section 2 of the Local Union By-Laws. *Denotes that this office shall require a majority (50% plus 1) of the votes cast for that office.

Letters of acceptance of nomination must include your name PRINTED CLEARLY as desired on the ballot with your global ID number and last four of your Social Security number. Beginning now through Friday, January 25th, they will be accepted either by hand delivery at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall during regular office hours (weekdays, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM [noon], 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM) or by certified mail. If mailed, it must be postmarked no later than 11:59 PM on Sunday, January 27th, 2008. Mail your nomination to:

PLEASE NOTE: Any member currently holding an internationally appointed position within Local 2000 who wishes to run for the unexpired term of Bargaining Committeeperson or Skilled Trades Chairperson/Committeeperson must submit a letter of resignation to the President by January 28th, 2008.

Numbers will be drawn on Tuesday, January 29th at 4:00 PM, at the Local Union Hall, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio. ELECTION TO BE HELD:

DATE:	Thursday, February 7th, 2008
WHERE:	THUNDERBIRD ROOM (In the administration building next to Human Resources)
TIME:	5:00 AM until 12:00 AM (Midnight)

A Run-Off Election will be held (if necessary) on Thursday, February 14th, 2008 at the same location from 5:00 AM until 12:00 AM (midnight).

NEXT UNION MEETING: The next monthly membership meeting will be at 2:30 PM on February 10th at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio.
