TENTATIVE
AGREEMENT: Chairman Nick Gallogly and the Bargaining Structure
have reached a local tentative agreement with the company. More
information to follow.
PENDING ELECTION: Pending
membership approval at this month’s membership meeting, we will have
a special election Thursday, February 7th for the vacant offices of
Bargaining Committeeperson and Skilled Trades
Chairperson/Committeeperson. Full details will be published in the
next bulletin.
OUR NEXT PAID HOLIDAY is
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which will be observed on Monday,
January 21st. You must work the day after (Tuesday, January 22nd) or
have an excused absence for that day to receive holiday pay. You
must work your next scheduled day. Example: If you have January 22nd
and 23rd off with an excused absence, you must still work January
24th to get paid for the holiday.
CORRECT ADDRESS & PHONE NUMBER
NEEDED: It is very important that you keep your records up to date
in order to protect your job and to receive important notifications
regarding the upcoming elections. If you have moved and/or your
phone number has changed, please go to Human Resources to update
your current information and call in or stop by the union hall to be
sure your records are correct here (440-934-3151 Ext. 21).
ELECTION COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS:
Nominations for a standing Election Committee consisting of nine (9)
members shall take place at the February membership meeting. Anyone
interested in running for the Election Committee MUST be nominated
at the February 10th membership meeting at the local union hall. The
meeting starts promptly at 2:30 PM.
ELECTION COMMITTEE ELECTION
will be held at the local union hall at the March 9th membership
meeting.
TFT / TPT UNEMPLOYMENT
INFORMATION: TFT’s and TPT’s who may have been eligible to
receive unemployment compensation for the Christmas holiday period
and didn’t file because they weren’t provided with a mass layoff
number from the company can still call the ODJFS at 1.877.644.6562
to apply for benefits. Please do so immediately. There is not
a mass layoff number available.
KEEPING INFORMED: At the Local
2000 web site, you can download and view Local 2000’s newspaper, The
Vanguard, access information regarding employee benefits, services
and ODJFS unemployment instructions in the event of a layoff. You
can also sign up to receive automatic information bulletins. To

agency or person.
UAW / NATIONAL CAP MEETING:
President Tim Donovan will be out of town attending the National
UAW-CAP Conference February 2nd through February 7th. First Vice
President Jerome Williams will be the President during his absence.

NEXT UNION MEETING: The next
monthly membership meeting will be at 2:30 PM on January 13th at UAW
Local 2000 Union Hall, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio.
