DOWN WEEKS: The weeks of
October 3 and October 10 are scheduled down weeks.
UNIT 1 ECONOLINE UNEMPLOYMENT
INFORMATION for the weeks of 10/3/11 and 10/10/11: Last day worked:
9/29 or 9/30, depending on your schedule. You must file for
unemployment online at http://unemployment.ohio.gov or if you do not
have internet access by calling 1.877.644.6562. ODJFS business
hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays.
Your first call or website visit
must be made between October 2 and October 8 for both down weeks,
which will be “making application” for benefits. More
information for filing your claim is listed as follows:
- Use Mass Layoff # (1100412)
provided by ODJFS for the week your layoff begins when filing
for unemployment.
- PLEASE NOTE: Because
you are laid off TWO weeks, you must access the ODJFS website
THREE TIMES or call ODJFS a total of THREE TIMES to receive
benefits. Your second call or website visit should be on October
9, which is to make claim for your first layoff week. Your third
call or website visit should be on October 16, which is to make
claim for your second layoff week.
***YOU MUST FILE APPLICATION AS
INSTRUCTED ABOVE OR YOU MAY LOSE BOTH WEEKS’ PAY. Please do not
wait until the last day to file because if you do, you may encounter
a problem that could force you to file your application late.
***FOR BI-WEEKLY FILERS: You
must make application during the week of October 2 and October 8 and
make your claim for the two week layoff on October 16.
WAITING WEEK INFORMATION: If
your waiting week falls during either of these layoff weeks, you
will be denied unemployment for that particular week. You must go to
the ODJFS website and print your unemployment benefit payment
documents and take BOTH PAGES to Human Resources to sign up
for your sub pay. Signing up for sub this time will start your
auto sub for one year in the event of future layoffs.
UNIT 4 VOITH UNEMPLOYMENT
INFORMATION: Unless otherwise notified, you are laid off for the
weeks of 10/3/11 and 10/10/11: You can follow the same instructions
as above, but you DO NOT have a mass layoff number and you DO NOT
file for sub pay.
UNIT 5 SOURCE PROVIDERS
UNEMPLOYMENT INFORMATION: Unless otherwise notified, you are
laid off for the weeks of 10/3/11 and 10/10/11: You can follow the
same instructions as above, but you DO NOT have a mass layoff number
and you DO NOT file for sub pay.
PLEASE NOTE: If your
unemployment was previously done by Tim Donovan or the staff at UAW
Local 2000, you must start doing your own unemployment beginning
with the October 3, 2011 layoff week due to liability concerns.
If you need assistance we will help you but we can no longer do it
for you. As always, we ask that if you have an issue that you first
call your servicing center and speak with them. The telephone
waiting periods can be lengthy but you must hold as long as you have
to if you wish to receive your unemployment compensation. If your
servicing center is not able to resolve your issue, you can then
contact the union hall and we will assist you.
We have had many questions about
how our local will proceed forward where Executive Board offices are
concerned following Tim Donovan’s passing. UAW Local 2000 By-laws
determine how the vacancy is filled. Below, please see the articles
and sections which are relevant:
Article 9 - Duties of Executive
Board Officers:
The duties shall be as defined in the Constitution of the U.A.W. and
the following:
Section 2: FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT:
(C) Shall succeed to the Presidency in the event of a vacancy in
that Office.
Due to 1st Vice President Jerome
Williams vacating his office to fill the office of President per
Article 9 Section 2(C) above, there will be an election held for the
office of 1st Vice President.
Article 10, Section 4:
All eligible Members of Local 2000, U.A.W., shall stand
automatically nominated for: (F) In the event of an election to
fulfill a vacancy on the Executive Board, any potential candidate
who presently holds an Executive Office shall resign their present
Office at least fifteen (15) days prior to nominations so as to
permit the nominations and election of candidates for both Offices
during the same election.
Due to national and local
negotiations in progress, we will schedule the election sometime
after a ratification vote on both the national and local agreements.
The election will be conducted in accordance with Article 10,
Sections 2 and 3 of the UAW Local 2000 By-laws.
UAW REGION 2-B SCHOLARSHIP:
