Our beloved union brother and
friend, John W. “Johnny” Hatcher, passed away on June 23, 2010,
following a lengthy illness. He held the offices of President
and Chairman, Financial Secretary and Benefits Representative of
UAW Local 2000, he was a long-time Chairman of the Lorain County
UAW Community Action Program and was former Chairman and
Financial Secretary of Lorain County Organized Labor’s Labor Day
Celebration Committee. John will be sorely missed by all those
who knew and loved him.
He was instrumental in helping
to make organized labor and the Democratic Party in Lorain
County the powerful forces they are today. We will never forget
his charitable nature or his drive and determination to make a
positive difference in the lives of everyone around him,
especially the needy. Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Friends will be received from 1-4 and 6-9 PM on Sunday, June
27 at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Road in Vermilion, where
the service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 28. On
behalf of the membership of UAW Local 2000, we would like to

thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult
