U.A.W. 35TH CONSTITUTIONAL
CONVENTION / DISTRICT COMMITTEEPERSON ELECTION REMINDER:
Polls will be open Wednesday, April 28th at 12:00 noon until
Thursday, April 29th at 12:00 noon. Members must present
their Ohio Assembly ID card or other suitable ID at the time of
voting. The election trailers will be located on the
Abbe Road side of the plant near the administration building.
Each candidate is allowed a challenger.
The identity of your challenger must be provided in writing to
the Election Committee Co-Chairperson (Tommie Thacker) no less
than 1 hour prior to the opening of the polls or dropped off at
UAW Local 2000 no less than one hour prior to the opening of the
polls. Challengers must report to the registration table to
receive their identification badge and rules. The UAW Local 2000
Election Committee thanks you in advance for your cooperation.
ABSENTEE VOTING: Absentee voting
will be permitted per membership action at the March 11th
membership meeting and the UAW International Constitution.
ONLY those on official union or company business
are eligible to absentee vote. Absentee ballots will be
available at the union hall.
REVISED TENTATIVE DOWN WEEKS:
Chairman Nick Gallogly has been advised by the company that the
following are tentative down weeks: August 30th, September 27th
and October 11th. As always, the work schedule is subject to
change.
VACATION SHUTDOWN: The company
has notified the Chairman that vacation shutdown will be the
weeks of July 5th and July 12th.
ORDER BANK: As of April 23, 2010,
the order bank was 10,467.
ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, May 4th is
Election Day. Please take the time out of your busy day to vote.
There are many local, county and state offices and issues on the
ballot in this Primary Election.
MOTHER’S DAY LUNCHEON: The
Women’s Committee is sponsoring a Mother’s Day luncheon on
Saturday, May 1st from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Tickets are $10 each
and can be purchased at the plant from committee members Paula
Weaver, Brenda Davis, Landy Kyzer, Arlene Spurlock, Nadine
Gonzales, Elba Cordova, Chrissy Wengerd, Roy Escandon or Jim
Monday or at the union hall from Linda.
51st ANNUAL REGION 2-B SINGLES GOLF
TOURNAMENT: The tournament will be held Saturday, May 22nd
and Sunday, June 27th at Hawthorne Hills and on Saturday, May
22nd and Sunday, June 27th at Thunderbird Hills. The tournament
is open to all Region 2-B members (active or retired) and their
spouses. It will be conducted on a first-come first-serve basis.
All applications must be as foursomes and no singles or any
variations will be processed. Applications and full details are
available at the union hall. Entries must be post marked
no later than April 30th, 2010.
NEXT PAID HOLIDAY – MEMORIAL DAY:
Monday, May 31st. Members on the 4-day work schedule will be
paid ten (10) hours’ holiday pay. Members on the 5-day work
schedule will be paid eight (8) hours’ holiday pay. You must
work Tuesday (the day after the holiday) or have a proper excuse
to be paid holiday pay.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING: Per
membership action at the April meeting, the next monthly
membership meeting will be on Sunday, May 2nd at 2:30 PM due to
Mother’s Day falling on the second Sunday, May 9th. The meeting
will be at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield
Village, Ohio.
PREMIER UNIT MEETING: The next
monthly membership meeting will be on Sunday, May 2nd at 1:00 PM
at the UAW Local 2000 Union Hall, 3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield
Village, Ohio. |
