On October 10th in Detroit, the
UAW National Ford Council voted to recommend that the membership
ratify the proposed modifications to the 2007 UAW-Ford National
Agreement.
THE SPECIAL MEETING FOR THE
RATIFICATION VOTE ON THE PROPOSED MODIFICATIONS TO THE 2007
NATIONAL AGREEMENT will be held at Southview High School,
2270 East 42nd Street, Lorain 44052 on Saturday, October 31st.
The informational meeting will start at 11:00 AM and voting will
be from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Members must present their Ohio
Assembly ID card or other suitable ID for the meeting and at the
time of voting. All active members are eligible to vote.
Directions to Southview High School: From Route 2, get off
at Exit 145B (Route 57) heading north toward Lorain. Turn right
on East 42nd Street. Southview High School is .01 miles down on
the right side of the road.
SCHEDULED TENTATIVE DOWN
WEEK: Our last tentative down week is the week of November
2nd. Of course, this is always subject to change. As of
Friday, October 23rd, the order bank was 10,398.

You must access the ODJFS website TWICE or call
ODJFS TWICE to receive benefits.

instructions will also be posted on our website at
www.uawlocal2000.org. PLEASE follow the ODJFS
instructions carefully.
**You must make
application during the layoff week as stated above.
**The ODJFS instructions indicate the last day to make
application is Saturday, November 7th. PLEASE do not
wait until Saturday to file because if you do, you may
encounter a problem that could force you to file your
application late. |
ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 3RD. There are many important state and local issues on
the ballot that will ultimately affect us all. We strongly
encourage you to research the issues and vote for candidates who
support us.
THE NEXT PAID HOLIDAY is
Veterans Day on Monday, November 16th. You must work your next
scheduled day to be paid for the holiday.
ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE:
We will be collecting non-perishable food for the needy from
October 26th to November 19th. Donations may be dropped off in
the main lobby by the medical department or on the ramp at the
old administration building on the Miller Road side of the
plant. All donations will be distributed throughout Lorain
County.
“FEED THE NEEDY” GATE
COLLECTION: A total of $1,209.00 was collected to purchase food
for the needy within Lorain County. We thank all who
participated.
THE ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD
DRIVE BENEFIT SPAGHETTI DINNER is on Sunday, November 1st at the V.F.W. Post 1662 in Amherst from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are
$10 for adults, $7 for seniors and free for children. There will
also be a 50/50 raffle and a huge silent auction. All proceeds
will benefit the needy in Lorain County. Please bring a
non-perishable food item with you to this event. Tickets are
available in the plant from the ERC’s and are also available at
the union hall during normal business hours, Monday through
Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
BENEFITS OFFICE HOURS DURING
DOWN WEEKS: During layoff weeks, the benefits office at the
union hall will be open Monday through Thursday only. The union
hall will remain open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 12 noon
and from 1 PM to 5 PM. The Human Resources Department at the
plant will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 3 PM.
PREMIER EMPLOYEES UNIT MEETING:
The next monthly unit meeting will be on Sunday, November 8th,
2009 at 1:00 PM at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall, 3151 Abbe Road,
Sheffield Village, Ohio.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The
