THE SCHEDULED TENTATIVE DOWN
WEEKS are September 21st, September 28th, October 12th,
October 19th, November 2nd and January 4th. Of course, this is
always subject to change. As of Monday, September 14th the order
bank was 5,334.
On September 10th the local
union was notified that the company wasn’t honoring the
seniority order of sending people to Sandusky. They had notified
National that Ohio could send nobody on September 14th. After a
lot of discussions with the International Union, the Human
Resources Department notified the Union that they were sending 6
people, at which time we asked if they were by seniority, they
said that they were unable to send them by seniority. At that
point in time, Chairman Nick Gallogly notified the Company that
if they couldn’t send the 35 and they couldn’t send them by
seniority, not to send any. The company still sent 6 people on
September 14th to the Sandusky facility, even though the Union
protested not to send them. After long discussions this week,
the Company has identified 45 people that they are sending to
Sandusky on September 21st all by seniority, which now takes the
active employees in this wave of 45, seniority date is
1/15/1999.
