SHIFT PREFERENCE SIGN-UP:
Sign up for shift preference starts Monday, August 31st from
6:00 AM through Friday, September 9th until midnight in Human
Resources. The sign up time was changed due to the holiday and
the four day work schedule.
THE SCHEDULED TENTATIVE DOWN
WEEKS are September 21st, September 28th, October 12th,
October 19th and November 2nd. Of course, this is always subject
to change.
THE NEXT PAID HOLIDAY is
Labor Day - Monday, September 7th. You must return to work the
day after the holiday (Tuesday, 9/8) or have an excused absence
for days off following the holiday in order to receive your
holiday pay. You MUST work your next scheduled day.
LABOR DAY CONVERSION:
Employees who work on Labor Day (September 7th) can sign up to
convert the holiday in Human Resources from August 31st to
September 4th.
ORDER BANK: As of
Friday, August 28th the order bank for the Econoline was 8,260.
LOCAL 2000 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
FOR THE LABOR DAY CELEBRATION: If you are interested in
volunteering for this year’s event please contact Linda at the
union hall at 440.934.3151, extension 21 to sign up. Our local
membership will be serving pop, chips and hotdogs from 2:00 –
5:00 PM. Volunteers will receive a commemorative Labor Day
Celebration t-shirt. Please call Linda with your shirt size no
later than Friday, September 4th.
LORAIN COUNTY ORGANIZED
LABOR’S 15TH ANNUAL LABOR DAY CELEBRATION & ANTIQUE, CLASSIC AND
STREETROD SHOW TO BE HELD SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH. Please plan
on attending our celebration at Black River Landing in Lorain
from 12:00 noon to 8:00 PM. The event is the largest of its kind
in the State of Ohio. There will be continuous music, amusement
rides, pony rides, 25¢ hot dogs, soda, bottled water, chips and
more. There will also be many free giveaways and thousands of
dollars in free door prizes, such as a Disney World trip, gift
cards for Giant Eagle and Heinens, plus much more. A free
drawing ticket will be given to each adult at the event. The
drawing will be held at 6:30 PM sharp. You must be present at
the time of the drawing to win door prizes.
*The Labor Day Committee is
asking attendees of this year’s celebration to bring a
non-perishable food item to the event to help feed the hungry in
Lorain County. The drop off points for food items will be at the
ticket sales tents.
UAW REGION 2-B SCHOLARSHIP:
Applications for the Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Program
are available at the union hall. Applicants must be high
school seniors graduating between January 2010 and July 2010.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4:00 PM ON OR BEFORE THURSDAY,
OCTOBER 15th. This deadline is firm and no exceptions will be
made. We have already had two $10,000 scholarship winners
from Local 2000. Your son or daughter could be the next winner!
THE 9TH ANNUAL REGION 2-B
TRAPSHOOT will be held at the Jaqua Trap Club, 900 E.
Bigelow Avenue, Findlay, Ohio on Saturday, September 12th
starting at 9:00 AM. It is open to all Region 2-B UAW members
(active and retired) and spouses only. The entry fee is $75.00
per shooter, which includes ammo, targets, prizes and expense
fees. Entry forms and further information will be available at
the local union hall. No entries will be accepted after
Friday, September 4th.
THE 9TH ANNUAL REGION 2-B
SPORTING CLAY SHOOT will be held at the W.R. Hunt Club, 5690
County Road 237, Clyde, Ohio on Saturday, October 10th. It is
open to all Region 2-B members (active and retired) and spouses.
Shooting times start at 9:00 AM. The entry fee is $40.00 per
shooter and entry forms and further information will be
available at the local union hall. Entry forms will be accepted
on a first come/first serve basis. No entries will be
accepted past the deadline, which is Friday, September 25th.
PREMIER EMPLOYEES UNIT
MEETING: The next monthly unit meeting will be on Sunday,
September 13th, 2009 at 1:00 PM at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall,
3151 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio.
