LINE SPEED REDUCTION: The
company is doing a line speed reduction to 32 JPH (jobs per
hour). Unfortunately with the sales and the volume down, this
was the only way to maintain two production shifts. As everyone
is aware, the company’s initial number was 325 people to be laid
off and as of now that number is down to 178. We do not agree
with this number and we are by no means finished working to
further reduce it, if possible. On August 3rd when the line
speed is reduced, work is added to jobs and work stations are
moved, please work at a normal pace and in a safe manner. If you
feel that you are being overworked, contact your Committeeman.
Every Committeeman will have a stopwatch to check the line
speeds and Standards will be available for job overloads. Please
check your JSA’s for time allotted for elements against the work
that’s being added to your operations. If you feel that there
may be a problem, please contact your Committeeman or Standards
Rep. Also, if you feel that there may be ergonomic issues please
contact your Committeeman to get these issues addressed
immediately.
