LINE SPEED REDUCTION: At
this time, we have no further details about the line speed
reduction other than what was in Plant Manager Joe Lee’s recent
letter. When the company gives the Chairman and Bargaining
Structure further details, the UAW leadership will ensure this
information is communicated to the membership as soon as
possible. We are committed to keeping you informed. Pending a
line speed reduction, the procedure for recall for laid off
employees at this time is as follows: If you are laid off from
Ohio Assembly, you will be recalled to Ohio Assembly upon
openings in line with seniority.
SCHEDULED TENTATIVE DOWN
WEEKS: June 22nd, July 6th are scheduled down weeks. Of
course, this is always subject to change and any changes will be
communicated to you as soon as we are aware. June 29th and
August 17th are scheduled vacation weeks.
ORDER BANK: As of May
20, the Econoline Order Bank is 11,679.
NEXT PAID HOLIDAY – MEMORIAL
DAY: Monday, May 25th. Members on the 4-day work schedule
will be paid ten (10) hours’ holiday pay. Members on the 5-day
work schedule will be paid eight (8) hours’ holiday pay. You
must work Tuesday, the day after the holiday, or have a proper
excuse to be paid holiday pay. Members working the holiday must
sign up in Human Resources to convert their holiday by midnight
on Thursday, May 28th.
BENEFITS OFFICE HOURS DURING
DOWN WEEKS: Benefits Representative Ron Bills will be at the
union hall during the layoff period. Office hours will be Monday
– Thursday from 8:30 AM to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 PM to 5:00
PM.
MARCH OF DIMES GATE
COLLECTION: $1,479.00 was collected at the gate and with the
fundraisers, $4,000.00 has been raised so far for the March of
Dimes. Thanks to all.
RECREATION COMMITTEE SUMMER EVENTS
GREEKTOWN CASINO DAY TRIP:
On June 20th, the Recreation Committee will be sponsoring a day
trip to Greektown Casino. The cost is $40.00 per person and
payment is due at the time of the reservation. Beverages will be
provided on the bus and you will be given $30.00 in casino
vouchers and a Greektown t-shirt and dice. The bus will leave at
9:00 AM SHARP from Super K-Mart at Leavitt Road and Route
58 in Amherst and return around 8:00-8:30 PM. You must have a
valid state / federal-issued government photo identification.

extension 21. Deadline for deposits is June 12 by 5:00 PM, no
exceptions.
A DAY WITH THE INDIANS:
On July 18th, the Recreation Committee will be sponsoring a day
with the Cleveland Indians versus the Seattle Mariners. Game
time is at 7:05 PM at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Bobbleheads will be given out. Tickets will be on sale for $4.00
each at the plant on June 18th from 6:00 AM to11:00 PM in the
main lobby. There will be a limit of ten (10) tickets per
member.
LOCAL 2000 ANNUAL PICNIC:
This year, Local 2000’s annual picnic will be held on Saturday,
August 1st at the Cleveland MetroParks Zoo. Tickets will be sold
at the June Local 2000 membership meeting and in the plant on
Monday, July 20th and Thursday, July 23rd from 6:00 AM to 11:00
PM in the main lobby. There will be a limit of ten (10) tickets
per member. Please bring your own picnic basket or food can be
purchased at the zoo vendors. Adult tickets will be $5.00 and
children 11 and under tickets will be free. There will be
door prizes for members and bingo.
FORD OHIO ASSEMBLY / UAW
LOCAL 2000 NIGHTS WITH THE LAKE ERIE CRUSHERS: The games
will be on the following dates at the new stadium located south
of Miller Road: June 15th, June 17th, June 29th and July 7th.
All games will begin at 7:05 PM. Home box seats will be $6.00
and there will be an all you can eat buffet at the picnic plaza
from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM for $17.50.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING:
The next monthly membership meeting will be on June 14th,
2009 at 2:30 PM at UAW Local 2000 Union Hall.
