down weeks. Of course, this is always subject to change and any
changes will be communicated to you as soon as we are aware.

UNEMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
(for the weeks of 4/27/09 and 5/4/09): You must
file for unemployment by calling 1.877.644.6562 or by filing
online at http://unemployment.ohio.gov. Some information for
filing your claim is listed as follows:
- Claim number ( 900565
) provided by ODJFS for the week your layoff begins when
filing for unemployment.
- PLEASE NOTE: You
must access the ODJFS website TWICE or call ODJFS TWICE to
receive benefits.
- Full details and
instructions from the ODJFS are available in Human Resources
and at the union hall. The ODJFS instructions will also be
posted on our website at
www.uawlocal2000.org.
- PLEASE follow the ODJFS
instructions carefully.
**Please start making your
first visit to the ODJFS web site starting Sunday, April 26th
but no later than Saturday, May 2nd. You must make
application during the first week of layoff as stated above.
If you do not have internet
access call 1-877-644-6562 (business hours are 8:00AM – 5:00
PM Monday – Friday, except holidays). **Your first call or
web site visit is making application for unemployment benefits.
**Your second call or web site visit is claiming your
unemployment week. **The ODJFS instructions indicate the last
day to make application is Saturday, May 2nd. PLEASE do not wait
until that date to file because if you do, you may encounter a
problem that may force you to file late for yo applicuration.
BENEFITS OFFICE HOURS DURING
DOWN WEEKS: Benefits Representative Ron Bills will be at the
union hall during the layoff period. Office hours will be from
8:30 AM to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
MARCH OF DIMES GATE
COLLECTION and MARCH OF DIMES WALK AMERICA: The annual plant
gate collection will be this Friday, April 24th to benefit the
March of Dimes. The walk will be Sunday, April 26th. If you
would like any further information, please contact your ERC’s:
Amy Jaynes-Brown at ext.1244, Annette Fuller at ext. 1382, Tom
May at ext. 1341 or Gerald Pippens at ext. 1095. A pair of
Cleveland Indians Tickets for the May 11th ball game will be
raffled off. Tickets for the raffle will be on sale in the plant
this week. In the near future, there will be information
available regarding the following March of Dimes fundraisers:
Basket raffles, lottery boards and others.
MOTHER’S DAY LUNCHEON:
The Women’s Committee is sponsoring a Mother’s Day luncheon on
Saturday, May 2nd, 2009. Tickets are $5 each and can be
purchased at the plant from committee members Paula Weaver,
Brenda Davis, Landy Kyzer, Arlene Spurlock, Nadine Gonzales,
Elba Cordova, Chrissy Wengerd, Angela Amstutz, Roy Escandon or
Jimmy Monday, and at the union hall from Linda.
50th ANNUAL REGION 2-B
SINGLES GOLF TOURNAMENT: The tournament will be held on
Saturday, May 16th and on Sunday June 14th at Hawthorne Hills
and Saturday and Sunday, June 13th and 14th at Thunderbird
Hills. The tournament is open to all Region 2-B members (active
or retired) and their spouses. It will be conducted on a
first-come first-serve basis. All applications must be as
foursomes and no singles or any variations will be processed.
Applications and full details are available at the union hall.
Entries must be post marked no later than April 24th, 2009
CONGRATULATIONS to Local
2000 members Bob Caldwell, Clyde Jackson, Joey Watson, Brad
Cunningham and Ray Fluker (“The Econoline Bunch”), who placed
5th in the men’s team event at the UAW Region 2-B Bowling
Tournament and are moving on to the International Finals. Best

MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING:
Due to our regularly scheduled May membership meeting falling on
Mother’s Day, the membership at the April meeting took action to
reschedule it for Sunday, May 17th at 2:30 PM at UAW LOCAL 2000
Union Hall. |
