9th scheduled down weeks. Of course, this is always subject to
change and any changes will be communicated to you as soon as we
are aware.

PAYCHECK INFORMATION:
Paychecks for the week ending March 22nd will be distributed on
Friday, March 27th by the main cafeteria in the administration
building between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
THE NEXT PAID HOLIDAY is
Good Friday, April 10th. Note: We no longer have the Monday
following Easter as a paid holiday.
UNEMPLOYMENT INFORMATION (for
the week of 3/23/09): You must file for unemployment by
calling
- 877.644.6562 or by filing
online at http://unemployment.ohio.gov. Some information for
filing your claim is listed as follows: 1. Claim number
(900406) provided by ODJFS for the week your layoff begins
when filing for unemployment.
- PLEASE NOTE: You must
access the ODJFS website TWICE or call ODJFS TWICE to
receive benefits.
- Full details and
instructions from the ODJFS are available in Human Resources
and at the union hall. The ODJFS instructions will also be
posted on our website at
www.uawlocal2000.org.
- PLEASE follow the ODJFS
instructions carefully.
**Please start making your first
visit to the ODJFS web site starting Sunday, March 22nd
but no later than Saturday, March 28th. If you do not
have internet access call 1-877-644-6562 (business hours are
8:00AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday, except holidays). **Your
first call or web site visit is making application for
unemployment benefits. **Your second call or web site visit is
claiming your unemployment week. **The ODJFS instructions
indicate the last day to make application is Saturday, March
28th. PLEASE do not wait until that date to file because if you
do, you may encounter a problem that may force you to file late
for your application.
WAITING WEEK INFORMATION:
Members who were on layoff status and serving their waiting week
will be denied unemployment and must take their ODJFS
Determination Notice to Human Resources to file for sub pay for
your waiting week. The ODJFS no longer mails waiting week
notifications. You must go to the ODJFS web site at http://unemployment.ohio.gov,
and then go to the menu options on the left side of the home
page under UNEMPLOYED WORKERS. Those who filed their claim on
the internet need to click on EXISTING ACCOUNT LOGIN. Members
who filed over the phone need to click on CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT.
Read the release of information and then click on I AGREE in the
lower left hand corner.
Enter your Social Security number
in the top box and then enter your pin number. Then, log in and
go to the VIEW CORRESPONDENCE inbox. Highlight the circle to the
left to view the UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT PAYMENT, click on the VIEW
DETAILS box, click on OPEN FILE DOWNLOAD, then print your
unemployment benefit payment documents and take BOTH PAGES
to the Human Resources Department to sign up for your sub pay.
Signing up for sub this time will start your auto sub for one
year in the event of future layoffs.
BENEFITS OFFICE HOURS DURING
DOWN WEEKS: Benefits Representative Ron Bills will be at the
union hall during the 3/23/09 layoff period. Office hours will
be from 8:30 AM to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

REGION 2-B V-CAP DRAWING:
The drawing that was supposed to occur last fall will be held at
the regional office in Maumee this Friday, March 20th. The
winners list will be posted as soon as it is available. Thanks
to all members who bought and sold tickets.
REMINDER: ENROLLMENT PERIOD
ENDS MARCH 31ST HOURLY OPTIONAL EMPLOYEE AND DEPENDENT LIFE
INSURANCE: The Limited Open Enrollment Period ends March
31st as provided in the UAW/Ford agreement. Active employees who
currently have coverage under the Employee and Dependent
Optional Life Insurance Plan may increase the amount of coverage
one level only during the specified period regardless of their
health history. To obtain the enrollment forms, contact the
Optional Insurance Plan office at 1-800-742-8215.
Representatives will be available at that number from 7:30 AM to
3:30 PM. For further information please contact Benefits
Representative Ron Bills at 934-3151 ext. 29.
EASTER BASKET RAFFLE: The
Women’s Committee is raffling off two Easter baskets, one for a
boy and one for a girl. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and can
be purchased at the plant from committee members Paula Weaver,
Brenda Davis, Landy Kyzer, Arlene Spurlock, Nadine Gonzales,
Elba Cordova, Chrissy Wengerd, Angela Amstutz, Roy Escandon or
Jimmy Monday, and at the union hall from Linda. The drawing will
be held in the main cafeteria at the plant on April 7th.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING:
Due to our regularly scheduled April membership meeting falling
on Easter Day, the membership at the March meeting took action
to reschedule it for Sunday, April 19th at 2:30 PM at UAW LOCAL
2000 Union Hall. |
